Introducing Kalona Chiropractor, Dr. Christopher Erickson

Dr. Christopher EricksonDr. Christopher Erickson's passion for helping others by choosing health and assisting in lifestyle changes that create wellness lead him to Bright Futures Chiropractic Clinic.

Dr. Erickson's journey towards finding the prevention of illness and the creation of health and wellness, started at an early age. As a child he had chronic ear infections which lead to multiple surgeries, antibiotics and permanent hearing loss. He remembers at this tender-age the pain and uncertainty of why he wasn't being helped. "As I look back on the experience I just wish I would have had the opportunity to have my nervous system checked for subluxation. I know chiropractic care would have helped me."

Dr. Erickson has a strong passion and connection with caring for children. He loves children's energy and sense of wonder. He links part of his strong desire to help children; with the care he wishes he would have received from health care professionals as a child. Like Dr. Grier, Dr. Erickson has received additional training from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in prenatal as well as pediatric care.

"With kids we don't have to change the direction of their health, we can get them off to a healthy start and continue to care for them as they grow into healthy teens and eventually healthy adults."

Dr. Erickson comes to Kalona from St.Paul, Minnesota where he grew up and was previously working. He and his fiance, Alisun, are excited about their new surroundings in Iowa.

"It is very exciting to be apart of Bright Futures Chiropractic and to bring a chiropractic lifestyle to Kalona and the surrounding communities. It is our goal to see our practice members live healthier, happier, longer and more fulfilling lives."

Dr. Chris Asks some important questions of interest to Kalona residents - Chiropractor Kalona Dr. Chris Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What is the significance of "growing pains?"
Chiropractors know that aches or pains at any age mean something's not right. In fact, many children go through stages of growth without aches or pains. So while "growing pains" may be common, they're not normal. That's why our Kalona chiropractic practice sees lots of children. A chiropractic checkup for your child can often help detect and correct problems that are more difficult to correct in Kalona adults.
