Introducing Our Kalona Chiropractors

Dr. Chris Grier

Dr. Chris GrierMy supreme goal as a doctor of chiropractic is to encourage people to take responsibility for their health and to realize that the body, given proper nutrition, activity, and a nervous system free from interference, has the incredible ability to heal itself. That ability is much stronger than any outside intervention could ever be. Embracing the knowledge that quality of life is directly tied to our health, we choose to make lifestyle decisions that enhance health. We start with chiropractic adjustments, since the nervous system is so important to health, and get adjusted at least twice per month. That, combined with choosing to eat healthful foods and engaging in physical activity, has made an incredible difference in our health--and we thought we were pretty healthy to begin with!   read more»

Dr. Christopher Erickson

Dr. Christopher EricksonDr. Erickson's journey towards finding the prevention of illness and the creation of health and wellness, started at an early age. As a child he had chronic ear infections which lead to multiple surgeries, antibiotics and permanent hearing loss. He remembers at this tender-age the pain and uncertainty of why he wasn't being helped. "As I look back on the experience I just wish I would have had the opportunity to have my nervous system checked for subluxation. I know chiropractic care would have helped me."   read more»

Dr. Chris Asks some important questions of interest to Kalona residents - Chiropractor Kalona Dr. Chris Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What is the significance of "growing pains?"
Chiropractors know that aches or pains at any age mean something's not right. In fact, many children go through stages of growth without aches or pains. So while "growing pains" may be common, they're not normal. That's why our Kalona chiropractic practice sees lots of children. A chiropractic checkup for your child can often help detect and correct problems that are more difficult to correct in Kalona adults.
